Driving home for Christmas…

I haven’t blogged in suuuch a long time but here is my Christmasy attempt. I am at uni in York which happens to be one of the most Christmas orientated cities in the north of England. Aside from the mountains of tourists that make my walk to lectures twice as long in the morning I absolutely love it. There are lights, coffee shops & lovely gifts in the shop. However, I am yet to feel particularly Christmassy. I have wrapped all my presents and decorated my uni house yet I don’t have that feeling as of yet…

However, whenever I think about going home for the festive period I get a spark of the feeling. It’s no secret that despite my love for all things York St John and teaching I do love visiting my home town.

For any of you that don’t know Bingley is a small town near Bradford not that anyone admits that…(“I’m from near Leeds” is a lie i regularly tell in York.) In one hand it’s awful because you can’t walk down the street without seeing someone from when you were growing up and you find yourself thinking: “omg remember when they…” or “I hope they don’t remember when I…” However, that is oddly comforting when you are in uni in a city that never smiles.

Overall, I literally can’t wait to get home for Christmas so I can do lovely festive things surrounded by people I have grown up with my entire life, drink in substandard venues & most importantly catch up with my lovely school friends.

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazi’s. You can’t trust people.
